I wouldn't recommend it. That board went end-of-life in 2006 so your board is already more than 10 years old. The most recent software to support it (NaturalAccess 8.1) was released in 2009, went End-of-support in January 2012, and all the supported OSes are also end-of-life (or about to be). You also won't be able to buy a support plan for this board anymore, so nobody from Dialogic could help with anything you encounter (and building a VoIP gateway from scratch is not something which is likely to happen without encountering some issues; having to make your own config is just the start). It's also not really designed as a VoIP board at all. Although it has an Ethernet interface and in theory could be configured for VoIP, the on-board processor is too slow to do many ports. You might get around 2 E1s worth of VoIP on a 16-E1 board. And most CG6100C boards were not sold with Fusion licenses (and they can't be bought now). For a VoIP application using NaturalAccess, you really want the CG6565C (Compact PCI) or CG6565E (PCI Express) boards. Those have much faster processors and can handle 8-16 E1s worth of VoIP for most use cases (there's no easy answer on density; it can vary depending on use case). But I wonder whether it makes sense to build your own VoIP gateway at all these days. Why not look into our dedicated gateway products such as the IMG-2020 or DMG series? Those do the job and don't require you to reinvent the wheel with a huge amount of code you have to write yourself. , greg
